Exploring Venues!

I have to admit that one thing I love about this job is seeing the wonderful range of venues that there are out there. So with all this incredible summer weather we’ve had in the months of May and June, I’ve taken to the road to visit some really fab places! It’s easy to think of ‘wedding’ venues as just being for weddings. But I’ve seen some great places that are just as suitable for vow renewals and naming ceremonies too.

So for the next three weeks I’m going to feature a venue I’ve been to visit and wax lyrical about all its merits and why I think it could be just what you are looking for when it comes to having that special bespoke milestone ceremony.

On the fourth week I’m going to give you one last venue and a list of essential questions to ask on your visit to a venue!

Here we go!

Week 1  – Redhouse Barn near Sternfield in Suffolk.

Also known as Two Hoots Barn, this developing wedding venue features a lovely barn in the Suffolk countryside which has been completely renovated to offer two main rooms: One light, white room for the ceremony, seating up to 90 guests which leads seamlessly back into the body of the barn and the timbered vaulted ceiling of the reception barn room seating 110 guests.

So many of the original 18th Century timbers have been preserved. With the theme of white throughout you never get any heaviness or darkness to the feel of the room even though you are surrounded by the oak of the barn.

Redhouse Barn is on a working farm and the family have invested in a range of new facilities in the barn complex, from a chill out room which was blissfully cool on the hot day I visited, to a newly-fitted catering kitchen where Redhouse’s recommended caterers can prepare all the food for your guests.

David is running the venue from this year and showed me the Christmas tree area and pumpkin field area as well with plans for more outdoor weddings.

The real appeal of this venue is that it offers a quality rustic blank canvas for you to inject your own decorative theme and style and it has a totally relaxed vibe. The courtyard entrance would being amazing dressed with flowers of your choice.

And finally, their pricing is pretty competitive!
